Create An Invoice From An Accepted Quote
Invoice creation starts from an accepted quote. That is deliberate. The invoice follows the document the customer accepted, not the current state of the project editor.
Start from the accepted quote
Open the quote detail page. If the quote is still draft, issue it first. If it is issued but not accepted, click Accept Quote. The invoice buttons appear once the quote is accepted.
Declined and cancelled quotes do not create invoices. If the customer later wants to proceed, use the active quote workflow again so the accepted record is clear.
Choose the invoice type
Create Full Invoice creates an invoice draft for the accepted quote total. Create Deposit Invoice appears when the accepted quote has a deposit amount. Create Balance Invoice appears when there is a remaining balance after the deposit.
For deposit and balance invoices, GridGap scales the accepted quote rows to the relevant amount. That keeps the invoice tied to the accepted quote snapshot while still letting you issue only part of the total.
What the draft inherits
The invoice draft inherits the quote reference, customer details, seller details, line items, tax settings, commercial context, project, version, scenario, and saved quote snapshot. Invoice due dates and default invoice text come from the commercial profile used when the invoice is created.
What opens next
GridGap opens the invoice editor after the draft is created. Review the inherited details there before issuing the invoice. If the invoice was created from the wrong quote, stop and create a new invoice from the correct accepted quote.
