Edit A Draft Quote

The draft editor is where a calculated result becomes a customer-facing offer. The calculation-backed rows give you a starting point. The commercial detail still needs your judgement.

Start with customer details

Add the quote title, customer name, email, phone, and address. These fields are saved on the quote itself. Seller details stay controlled by commercial settings, so update those settings separately if the seller information is wrong.

Review the calculation source

The editor shows the project, version, and scenario result used to create the draft. Use View source results if you need to check where the seeded rows came from. If the wrong result was used, create a new quote from the correct result instead of trying to turn this one into something else.

Edit seeded rows

Seeded rows stay linked to the saved calculation result. Their description and category are read-only, but you can add quantities, brand, reference, SKU, unit, unit price, and notes where those fields are available.

Use the reference and notes fields for product choices or supplier-specific detail. GridGap supplies the sizing context. It does not choose your supplier or tell you what to charge.

Add manual items

Use Add manual item for work that is commercial rather than calculation-seeded. Labour, travel, commissioning, documentation, site work, and local allowances are common examples.

Set discounts, terms, and notes

You can apply either a discount percent or a discount amount. Entering one clears the other. Add payment terms, quote terms, and notes before saving.

Click Save Quote when you are done. GridGap recalculates the saved totals in the backend and reloads the draft with the updated totals.
