Quote Items Explained

Quote items are the rows that make up the commercial offer. Some rows come from the calculation result. Others are added manually by you.

Seeded items

Seeded items are created from the saved scenario result. GridGap can create rows for equipment and installation materials where the result contains a usable requirement. Depending on the scenario, that may include batteries, inverter, AC charger, DC charger, solar panels, MPPT controller, converters, downstream distribution boards, and installation materials.

A seeded row keeps a calculation reference, such as a required quantity or recommended size. That reference helps you see why the row appeared in the quote.

Manual items

Manual items are for commercial lines that are not directly seeded from the saved result. Labour, transport, documentation, commissioning, extra services, and local allowances often belong here.

What you can edit

In a draft quote you can add customer details, brand, model, SKU, unit, unit price, and notes. Seeded item descriptions and categories stay tied to the calculation source. Manual rows are yours to describe.

Prices are not supplied by GridGap. Unit price, brand choice, supplier choice, and commercial judgement belong to the user.

How totals are calculated

When you save the draft quote, GridGap recalculates totals in the backend. It uses the saved line quantities and prices, the commercial tax settings, and any quote discount. The saved totals shown on the page are the backend result from the last save.
