How To Create An AC/DC Solar + Battery + Distribution Scenario
Use this scenario when the version contains both AC and DC loads and solar is part of the system you want to model.
When to use this scenario
This is the broadest scenario path. It keeps the mixed AC and DC load picture in view while also adding solar production and solar controller requirements.
It can suit systems where some loads need an AC inverter path, some loads sit on DC distribution, and solar is expected to support the system or help recharge the battery.
Set up the scenario
Add the AC and DC appliances to the version first. Then choose AC/DC - Solar + Battery + Distribution when selecting the scenario type.
With guided setup, the app creates the load groups, collects worst-case usage hours, and then uses Continue to Scenario Settings. GridGap will show that the scenario is ready before opening the starting settings. With blank settings, choose the same scenario type in the blank scenario modal to open it without guided starting defaults.
What to focus on
Work through the scenario in layers. First check the load selection and usage hours. Then review the battery, AC-side inverter, DC distribution, charging, and solar assumptions.
Solar settings can make a large difference in this scenario because the solar side may be supporting a mixed load set and a recharge target. Check sunshine hours, loss assumptions, panel assumptions, and recharge settings carefully.
Calculate and review
After calculation, review the overview, battery, inverter, DC distribution, solar, solar controller, charging, and warnings sections. If the result looks heavy, check the loads, usage hours, solar assumptions, and recharge expectations before changing only one input.
