How GridGap Calculates At A High Level
The calculation runs in the backend and stores results against the version being calculated.
Calculation flow
At a high level, GridGap starts with loads and energy demand. It then works through battery requirement, battery wiring, inverter sizing, charger sizing, DC main bus sizing, converter sizing, downstream DB sizing, solar sizing, installation and protection input sizing, warnings, and results storage.
Solar branch
For solar scenarios, the solar part of the flow considers day-load support, battery-recharge burden, sun-hour assumptions, cloud effects, panel count logic, advisory string guidance, and MPPT-related outputs.
Results and versions
Results are stored per version and per scenario. Calculate refreshes the currently opened version in place. Create New Version is the separate branching step when you want to preserve the current version and work from a new copy, a new empty version, or a changed scenario type.
